Make a T-Shirt Quilt



This class is actually TWO sessions. 

In the first session, Deb will teach you how to cut and prepare your T-shirts for making a quilt. 

In the second session, Deb will teach you best practices for assembling your one-of-a-kind creation. Whether you want to sew T-shirts directly together directly or add sashing, Deb will help you construct this quilt. You will learn chain-piecing and "Book Assembly" of blocks.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: You should be familiar with your own sewing machine.
Materials Included: none
Requirements: First Session: No Machine required as you will only be working on T-shirt preparation. Bring: four (4) t-shirts you want to include in the quilt; 2-yards fusible stablizer (i.e. Pellon SF101); rotary cutter and mat. Second Session bring: Sewing machine with power cord and foot pedal thread a basic sewing kit (including scissors, pins, seam ripper and all required notions) Your prepared t-shirts (as many as you want in the quilt) Sashing fabric (if desired) If you are planning to add sashing to your quilt, you will need yardage of complementary fabric (figure on 12 inches x WOF for each t-shirt
